MA(Oxon) MBBS, MSc, FRCS (T&O) SLP

Specialises in

  • Cervical nerve root block
  • Discectomy / Decompression
  • Anterior cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF)

  • Nerve root block

I have worked as an orthopaedic surgeon for 20 years and been involved in spinal surgery for 16 years. I have worked as a consultant for nine years and started my current post in 2018.

I specialise in spinal surgery with a specific interest in minimally invasive techniques, pain free surgery, rapid recovery, endoscopic spinal surgery, microdiscectomy, total disk replacements, minimally invasive fusion surgery, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty.

I have completed two complex spinal fellowships. The first is from Oxford University and the second is from the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. I previously worked at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital prior to taking up my current post.

In modern practice the number of procedures you do is recorded and compared to your peers in the same specialty. Compared to my national peers I perform five and a half times as many anterior cervical discectomy and fusions, six times as many decompression/disectomy procedures, six times as many kyphoplasty procedures and 16 times as many spinal injections.
