I have been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for almost 20 years since the 2000, based at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. At Spire Bushey and Spire Harpenden hospitals I offer colposcopy treatment and a general gynaecology service including laparoscopic surgery for pelvic pain, menopause, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, MyoSure for polyp and fibroid removal, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy and prolapse surgery.
In my career as a Gynaecologist I have performed with less than 1% complication rate: >600 total abdominal hysterectomies, >300 vaginal hysterectomies, >400 laparoscopic surgery, >300 prolapse surgery, >2,000 Colposcopies and treatments, >300 laparoscopy for pain, >500 hysteroscopy +- surgery, >40 MyoSure surgery for polyp or fibroid removal, >50 endometrial ablation, >200 minor gynae procedures eg Bartholin's cyst, vulval biopsy and >100 cystoscopy.
I trained as an SHO in Pontefract and Dewsbury Hospitals and then became a registrar at Barnet and Edgware General Hospitals. There I was able to acquire broad experience in general gynaecology and obstetrics including colposcopy, urogynaecology surgery and menopausal problems.
Following this I then became a Senior Specialist Registrar at St George's Hospital, London. I was the Training Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and College (RCOG) Tutor of West Herts Trusts.
