I have extensive experience in all aspects of general cardiology and teach nationally and internationally especially in the fields of pacing and ECG (electrocardiography). I also see patients with chest pain, shortness of breath and other cardiac symptoms and perform non-invasive investigations such as echocardiography (ultrasound of heart), ECG, and investigations such as CT coronary angiography and cardiac MRI. I also offer a comprehensive heart health assessment via the newly launched Heart Health Check at Spire Harpenden Hospital, Hertfordshire.
I am a consultant cardiologist at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust and am a specialist in implantable cardiac devices (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and biventricular pacing).
I specialise in heart rhythm disorders and see patients with a wide range of symptoms including palpitations, dizzy spells and blackouts. I implant pacemakers and defibrillators and supervise long term follow-up and programming.
In addition to my clinical work, I am heavily involved in the training of cardiology junior doctors and teach regularly on the specialist registrar training days. I am the course organiser for ECG training courses for doctors, nurses and paramedics and teach extensively on pacemaker training courses nationally and internationally. I co-chaired the European Society of Cardiology core curriculum for the training of specialists in pacemakers and electrophysiology, published in 2024.

I live locally with my wife and four children, two of whom are at university and two attend St George's School, Harpenden. I enjoy running for fitness and spend hours on the touchline watching my boys play rugby and football for local teams. I am a keen rugby supporter and an avid major league baseball fan.
