I have over 30 years' experience working as an Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Cataract and Vitreo-retinal surgery. I completed specialty training in Ophthalmology at Oxford Eye Hospital followed by a fellowship in Vitreo-retinal surgery.
I offer monofocal and premium lens (multifocal lenses) to patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Cataract is an inevitable consequence of vitrectomy surgery, I offer patients combined cataract and vitrectomy surgery for various retinal conditions especially macular hole, epiretinal membrane and persistent floaters, thus saving patients from a second operation following vitrectomy.
Currently I am one of a few retinal surgeons, offering the smallest gauge vitrectomy available (27 Gauge,0.4 mm port size) which is completely suture less and allows quicker visual rehabilitation.
I have pioneered various techniques in Vitreo-retinal surgery including combined Phacovitrectomy, non-posturing macular hole surgery and use of Chandelier illumination for retinal detachment surgery. I rigorously perform outcome audits on my surgery to maintain an above average success rate.
I regularly present my research in national and international conferences. I have published 37 papers on various topics in general ophthalmology as well as Vitreo-retinal surgery.
