How a shoulder replacement could solve your pain issues.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Julie Thompson at Spire include:
I started work at North Manchester General Hospital in general dietetics then joined Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in 2008, specialising in gastroenterology dietetics in 2009 and bariatric dietetics in 2013. I then moved to Salford Royal Foundation Trust in 2016 to work in a tertiary centre for gastroenterology as a specialist dietitian and no longer practice in bariatric surgery.
I am an advisor on the board of the IBS Network, the UK charity for people with IBS (www.theibsnetwork.org) and a UK expert in treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome and diet, including being trained to use The Low FODMAP dietary approach to reduce functional bowel symptoms.
For Crohn's disease, I have experience of using elemental, polymeric and the LOFFLEX dietary treatment, working closely with Gastroenterologists to help patients achieve remission.
I have written for the Guardian, Sainsbury's Magazine, Network Health Dietitians Magazine, GUT Reaction and NACC local group magazine. I regularly write posts for the blog on the Calm Gut Clinic (http://www.calmgutclinic.co.uk); the site contains recipes, book reviews and lifestyle advice in gut health and diet.
