Specialises in
I am a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust. I have long had a passion for pain medicine and believe in following a holistic approach, where clinicians and patients can work in harmony to combat chronic pain. I treat a wide range of chronic pain conditions including patients with spinal pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, abdominal pain, migraine and complex regional pain syndrome.
Where traditional treatment options have not been successful, I believe in trying alternative strategies, including medical cannabis, to treat refractory pain should there be any evidence of their efficacy.
My medical journey started at the University of Leeds. Whilst at Leeds medical school, I won multiple academic awards and graduated with honours. I then trained across hospitals in Yorkshire and attained my fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists, London. Thereafter, I did my advanced training in pain medicine and succeeded in receiving my fellowship from the Faculty of Pain Medicine, London.
I am a member of the United Kingdom Medical Cannabis Clinician Society and my patients who receive medical cannabis prescriptions will always be discussed at a multidisciplinary team as per General Medical Council guidance to ensure safe practice.
