After qualifying from The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt School of Physiotherapy in 1985, the early part of my career was spent gaining experience in Great Yarmouth, Hillingdon and at Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital in Alton where I was the Physiotherapy Manager for 12 years. I moved to Spire Clare Park in 2001.
I treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions with a special interest in hip and knee pain and rehabilitation. I also work as an Orthopaedic Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner for Mr Chissell and Mr Perry, assessing, triaging and managing hip and knee patients. I am also trained in Be Activated techniques and have used these techniques to successfully treat a number of conditions. I successfully completed the extended scope practitioner module as part of an MSc at Southampton University in 2004.
I am a brace specialist and fit braces for patients with a range of knee conditions. I am also a qualified APPI instructor and teach regular classes. I am also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists and incorporate acupuncture in to the management of my patients. I have a BTEC advanced award in moving and handling people and equipment and am the hospital co-ordinator for manual handling training. I have recently completed my training in vestibular rehabilitation and am a member of ACPIVR.
