I work as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in London.Â
I specialise in all aspects of surgery of the breast and trunk and I am truly fortunate to have a practice, where I can offer a mixture of cosmetic and complex reconstructive procedures for my patients. Although at first glance these two disciplines may appear unrelated, the core reconstructive principles I use in the NHS, directly apply to cosmetic surgery. This gives me an edge and a unique understanding of the aesthetic form, tissue reshaping, healing and above all the focus on personalised and safe care.Â
In addition to the standard cosmetic procedures offered, areas of particular interest of mine include: vegan breast enhancement (no implants), auto-augmentation breast lift, liposculpting and liposuction, tummy tucks, cosmetic ear surgery, eyelids and surgery of the skin. I perform in excess of 200 breast, trunk and skin operations per year.Â
I graduated with distinction from University College London Medical School in 2003 and completed my higher plastic surgery training in London, with specialist fellowships at the Royal Marsden and Queen Victoria Hospitals. My cosmetic training involved a formal fellowship in Sheffield and time spent in prestigious cosmetic centers in London, Sweden and Canada.
I am currently leading our microsurgical fellowship programme and working on innovative ways of improving the training of our junior surgeons. I am also active in research and I lead a small research team of junior doctors. In 2018 I was in charge of organising the first London complex skin cancer educational meeting, held at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea.
I have recently been nominated for the prestigious LaingBuisson award for my work on drainless surgery and for the reduction in patient hospital stay at the Royal Marsden Hospital. My research team, led by myself, has also recently won two prestigious awards for our research on clinical outcomes in breast reconstruction. I have a special interest in surgical innovation and I was awarded The Life Sciences Entrepreneur of the Year Award, from Cambridge University in 2013.
