After graduating from Guy's Medical School in 1983, I began my specialist training in General Surgery in London and the South East of England. Gaining FRCS (Ed) in 1987 and FRCS (Eng) in 1988 I went on to gain a Master of Surgery degree with the University of London in 1993 - my thesis being 'Investigating host defenses in obstructive jaundice'.
I later gained FRCS (General Surgery) in 1995. I have been awarded the following: Certificate of Accreditation of the Royal College of Surgeons of England - 1996 Certificate of Completion Specialist Training - 1997. Research Grant Award - 1989 World HPB Congress Prize - 1990 MS Thesis Rogers prize Finalist - 1993 Ethicon Travelling Fellowship - 1994 BJS Society Travelling Fellowship - 1994 CME Award (RCS Edinburgh) - 1994 Laparoscopic Surgical Fellowship - 1995 Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland Prize - 1995.
I am a member of the Raven Department of Education of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I am hard working and patient focused. I am dynamic, motivated, progressive and am not adverse to change with an approachable and outgoing personality. I have an ambition to develop and embrace new technology and techniques to enhance patient focused care. I facilitate and promote multi disciplinary team working.
