My interests are the operative and non-operative management of neck and back pain and pathology including spinal fractures and tumours incorporating minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques. Procedures performed include: microdiscectomy, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, minimally invasive spinal fusion, flexible stabilisation, cervical discectomy and fusion, epidural and facet joint injections, sacroiliac joint fusion.
I commenced work as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital in 2004. Having been appointed as a general orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in spinal surgery; I now practices almost exclusively in the management of spinal pain and pathology.
I was born in Bristol and educated at Bristol Grammar School. I qualified in 1992 from Charing Cross and Westminster medical school now part of Imperial College, London. As a specialist registrar, I undertook orthopaedic training on the North West Thames London rotation and gained broad experience in all aspects of general orthopaedics and trauma. During this time I gained a special interest in spinal surgery and as such I undertook a combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine fellowship in Melbourne, Australia.
