Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Neville Dastur at Spire include:
Open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, nellix EVAS aortic aneurysm repair, carotid surgery for stroke and TIA (mini-stroke), lower limb bypass surgery for ischaemic legs, treatment of diabetic foot complications, open and endovenous laser / radiofrequency ablation for varicose veins, sclerotherapy for cosmetic flare / spider veins
Mr Neville Dastur qualified at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in 1997. He completed his higher surgical training in the South West Thames region and undertook an endovascular fellowship back at St Thomas' Hospital London and then the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
He is an NHS consultant at Frimley Park NHS Hospital with a specialist interest in endovascular techniques. He is a joint lead for vascular simulator training and teach on various courses about vascular and general surgery (including the Registrar Ready Course, St Thomas’ MRCS course and London EVAR course). He is the vascular lead for the diabetic foot service at Royal Surrey, Guildford Hospital and lead on a new Stent graft system called Nellix for the treatment of infra-renal and complex aneurysms.
He maintains an active research interest and is the principal investigator at Frimley Park for the 3D image registration mapping project for aortic aneurysm repair. He has published in a number of peer reviewed journals on general surgical and vascular topics and presented at a number of National and International meetings.
He is a director of a medial software company (www.clinsoftsolutions.com) specialising in developing healthcare software and mobile applications.
