Mr Jerry Pike
BM, FRCS, FRCS (Orth).
I was born in Ealing, London and studied medicine at Southampton University Medical School - graduating in 1984. I have carried out post graduate surgical training in Wessex region attaining FRCS (England) and then joined the South West Thames Orthopaedic Training programme, completing specialist training and gaining FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) in 1995.
In 1996 I was appointed a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with a sub-specialty of Upper limb. I continue to have both elective and emergency NHS practices, with additional private practice at Parkside Suite Frimley Park Hospital and Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham.
My special interests are shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff surgery, shoulder instability and replacement. Shoulder sports injuries, including trauma and fracture are also a significant part of my practice. I am involved with the treatment of climbers, elite athletes, and both professional cyclists and Motorcyclists - providing elite protocols of treatment where appropriate and giving specialist advice to team managers and sports coaches.
I was a Clinical Director of the Department of Orthopaedics at Frimley Park Hospital for three years, was Orthopaedic representative at Parkside MAC for five years and am engaged with the training of junior doctors and orthopaedic surgeons in training. Additionally, I act as an examiner for MSc in Orthopaedics and regularly interviews for Core and Higher Surgical Training appointments.
