I was appointed to Frimley Park as Consultant in Vascular and General Surgery in August 2001, following completion of the first Endovascular Fellowship at St Thomas Hospital, London. I introduced Endovascular Treatment of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms to the hospital together with Radiology Colleague Andrew Hatrick. The programme has now treated over 400 aneurysms. In 2011, I and Dr Hatrick developed the first endovascular programme to treat complex aortic aneurysms in Surrey.
Other notable achievements Setting up a multidisciplinary diabetic foot service at Frimley Park Hospital in 2003. Training Programme Director, Kent Surrey and Sussex for core and higher surgical Trainees.
In 2004, I and colleague Peter Leopold were the second group of surgeons in the country to use lasers in the treatment of varicose veins (EVLA). Together as part of the Surrey Vein Clinic, they have performed over 3000 procedures, many having been performed at Clare Park. We have run successful aortic and endovenous training courses.

Mr Gerrard is married with three teenage children. He is a keen cyclist, having completed four E'tape du Tour events, a trans-Pyrenean and a Corsican cycling tour. He was captain of London University Football team and represented British Universities at Association Football. He also enjoys golf and cricket. Other interests are music and socialising with friends.Back to top
