I am the only Consultant Surgeon at Clare Park to specialise exclusively in facial plastic surgery. I graduated with an honours degree in medicine from the University of London (St George's Hospital). Since my expertise lies in facial surgery he also chose to study dentistry and was awarded a second honours degree in this subject (The Royal London Hospital). In all I gained 14 undergraduate prizes and subsequently obtained Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons in both London and Edinburgh.
After experience in general surgery and neurosurgery I spent five years of specialist head and neck training in the North East of England before passing the Intercollegiate Examination in Maxillofacial Surgery in September 1998. I have been on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council since August 1999. In 2000 I was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke. During my time there I gained a national reputation for cancer care such that in 2008, I was invited to join the head and neck cancer team at the world-famous Royal Marsden Hospital.
I lecture widely in this country and in the last few years have been invited to talk in America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In 2005 I was honoured with an award from my national association for my contribution to surgery both home and abroad.
