Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Andrew Davies at Spire include:
I am a consultant surgeon specialising in general, laparoscopic and upper gastro-intestinal surgery for patients in Hampshire and Surrey. I regularly perform surgery for abdominal hernias, gallstones and acid reflux (hiatus hernia repair) as well as endoscopy and oesophago-gastric cancer.
I was trained in some of the leading teaching hospitals in London, including King’s College liver unit, the Royal Marsden and St Thomas’ hospitals. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and was awarded two prestigious laparoscopic surgery fellowships to Pittsburgh, USA and Pretoria, South Africa.
I have initiated a number of international research collaborations that include participating units from the UK and USA. This prompted an invitation to be one of the first UK institutions to be invited to contribute data to the international staging system for oesophageal cancer. I have published widely in the field of upper GI surgery, have been an invited speaker at international conferences and regularly reviews articles for leading scientific journals.

I met my wife Sophie (also a surgeon) at medical school in Edinburgh. She is local to the area having grown up in Chiddingfold and so we have many family members living nearby in Surrey and Hampshire.
We live in Haslemere with our two children who go to school locally. I am a keen rugby supporter and also enjoy golf, skiing and cricket. Unfortunately, time for these activities is limited to say the least.Back to top
