I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Frimley Park Hospital, specialising in medical retina diseases and cataract surgery. I have over 25 years of experience in ophthalmology and bring extensive expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of complex retinal conditions.
In addition to my medical retina practice, I have significant experience in cataract surgery, offering personalised surgical care using a wide range of intraocular lens options to meet individual patient needs. My approach combines clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and a strong commitment to patient safety and outcomes.
I offer comprehensive treatment for a wide range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions. My services include advanced medical retina care such as intravitreal injections, delivered in accordance with the latest clinical guidelines to ensure the best possible visual outcomes.
I also provide cataract surgery using the full range of intraocular lenses currently available including toric and multifocal lenses. To date, I have performed over 15,000 cataract surgeries, with a complication rate well below the national average, reflecting my strong commitment to surgical excellence, patient safety, and high-quality outcomes.
I am actively involved in research and have served as Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials focusing on macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions. I regularly present at national and international ophthalmology conferences as a speaker and contributor.
I work closely with NHS England in my role as Regional Clinical Lead to enhance ophthalmic services across the Southeast. I have played a key role in shaping regional cataract surgery pathways and advancing digital transformation within ophthalmology services. This work was recognised with a highly commended HSJ award.
Alongside my clinical and leadership work, I am deeply committed to education and mentorship. I am passionate about training the next generation of ophthalmologists, and this dedication was recognised with the Best Trainer Award in 2022. My overall contributions to ophthalmology have also been acknowledged through the National Clinical Excellence Award.
