Dr Flavia Niccolini

I am a Consultant Neurologist with over 15 years of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions, and I currently serve as Clinical Lead for Neurology at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. My specialist interests include Parkinson’s disease, tremor and movement disorders, restless legs syndrome. I also assess and manage headaches and migraine, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness and balance disorders, and a variety of other neurological symptoms. My practice covers both complex neurological conditions and patients seeking a clear diagnosis for unexplained symptoms. I lead both the Parkinson’s Disease Service and the Botulinum Toxin Service at Frimley and am committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs.

I have extensive experience in specialist movement disorder clinics and botulinum toxin services, having worked at leading neuroscience centres including King’s College Hospital and St George’s Hospital. I have carried out specialist Tic Disorder clinic at St George’s Hospital.

I offer comprehensive neurological assessments, medication optimisation, advanced treatments for Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, and botulinum toxin injections for conditions such as dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm. I work closely with patients to develop personalised treatment plans aimed at improving symptoms, maintaining independence and enhancing quality of life.

In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive experience in neurological research, particularly in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. Over the course of my career, I have contributed to numerous international research studies, published extensively in leading peer-reviewed medical journals, and presented my work at major national and international neurology conferences. My research has focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, tremor and related neurological conditions, helping to bring the latest advances in care directly to patients. This strong combination of specialist clinical expertise, service leadership and internationally recognised research experience allows me to offer evidence-based, up-to-date treatment tailored to each individual patient.

In addition to my clinical and research roles, I am the Clinical Lead for Neurology at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams including specialist nurses, therapists and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive care for people with neurological conditions. I am actively involved in service development, education and training of healthcare professionals, and I regularly contribute to national and international meetings focused on Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. My aim is to combine specialist expertise, compassionate care and the latest medical advances to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life.
