"I enjoy working at Spire as staff are supportive towards each other and treat each patient as their own."
Specialises in
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon at Spire Yale Hospital and Spire Abergele Clinic, with over 15 years of experience in orthopaedics. Since April 2020, I have been working as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hand and wrist surgery at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
I specialise in a wide range of hand and wrist conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, osteoarthritis of the hand and wrist, rheumatoid arthritis and Dupuytren’s contracture.
I have performed approximately 1,000 hand surgical procedures, covering a broad spectrum of treatments including carpal tunnel release, Dupuytren’s surgery, joint replacement, rheumatoid hand surgery, WALANT (wide awake hand surgery), and wrist arthroscopy.
I recently performed the first ultrasound‑guided, minimally invasive carpal tunnel release in Wales. This innovative technique offers minimal disruption, faster recovery and enables many patients to return to work and daily activities the following day, representing a safer and more efficient approach to hand surgery.
I graduated from Guntur in South India in 2006 and undertook my basic surgical training in the East Midlands. I completed my orthopaedic training (CCT) in Nottingham and Derby in 2018. I then undertook nationally appointed hand surgery fellowships (ATP) in Manchester and Birmingham.
In 2019, I achieved the distinction of being awarded both the British and European Diplomas in Hand Surgery. I was also selected for international training visits to renowned centres including the Mayo Clinic and the Christine Kleinert Hand Institute in the USA, and Ganga Hospital in India.
I have a strong interest in sustainable healthcare. In 2021, I was part of one of five teams selected for the Green Surgery Challenge, supported by the Royal College of Surgeons and the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare. I was nationally recognised for developing innovative, sustainable surgical pathways aimed at reducing the carbon footprint within the NHS.
Alongside my clinical work, I remain actively involved in research in hand and wrist surgery, with multiple publications in peer‑reviewed journals, including the Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume). I am also committed to education, working as a clinical tutor for the British Diploma in Hand Surgery at the University of Manchester and as a faculty member for FRCS revision courses held in Oxford, Manchester and Mansfield.
