Mr Stephen Goodyear

I was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in 2014, with my NHS clinical practice based at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, providing specialist vascular and endovascular surgery services to patients across Worcester and Worcestershire.

I am currently the Clinical Lead for Vascular Surgery and Major Trauma within the Trust and serve as a member of the Birmingham, Black Country, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Trauma Network Board, contributing to the strategic development of regional trauma and emergency vascular care.

I obtained my primary medical qualification from the University of Leicester in 2001 and completed comprehensive training in general surgery, vascular surgery, and endovascular surgery across the Midlands. My specialist vascular training was undertaken within the West Midlands Deanery, with extensive hands‑on experience in both open and minimally invasive techniques.

Alongside clinical training, I completed a Doctorate of Medicine by Research (MD) at the University of Warwick in 2009, as well as a Postgraduate Award (PGA) in Medical Education in 2007, supporting my interests in clinical leadership, training, and service development.

As a senior registrar, I completed the Medtronic Endovascular University Course, enhancing advanced endovascular skills, and served as the National Representative for Vascular Registrars on the Council of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland (2013–2015).

Based in Worcester, my clinical practice focuses on the full scope of vascular and endovascular surgery, including complex arterial disease, emergency vascular intervention, and trauma-related vascular injuries. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence‑based care for patients throughout Worcestershire and the wider West Midlands.
