I was appointed consultant surgeon at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2006. My initial surgical training was at University Teaching Hospital in North India and subsequently in UK surgical training programme in the Yorkshire region. I am lead clinician for Upper GI cancer for this region and Honorary Clinical Tutor for Hull and York Medical School. I provide a comprehensive service in the area of upper gastrointestinal disease and enjoy working alongside other specialist colleagues in the management of particularly challenging and complex problems.
I perform laparoscopic gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic roux Y gastric bypass. I have specialised in managing oesophageal and gastric cancers. I also perform a wide variety of laparoscopic surgery including: cholecystectomy, hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery, splenectomy and appendicectomy. I believe in providing high quality evidence based clinical practice to my patients. I am actively involved in research.
