I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon with over 20 years’ experience as a teaching hospital consultant. I have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating conditions of the ear, nose and throat in both adults and children, including nasal blockage, sinus disease, ear and hearing problems, balance disorders, snoring and throat problems.
I am interested in all aspects of otolaryngology with my special areas of interest are in rhinoplasty surgery (nose reshaping surgery) and ear and hearing problems. I regularly assess and treat children with common ENT conditions such as tonsillitis, glue ear and hearing difficulties, offering both medical and surgical care where appropriate.
I receive referrals from other consultants and colleagues especially for problems relating to my subspecialist interests of rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty and ear problems. I have trained in both the UK and Australia. I pride myself on giving comprehensive and straightforward explanations of problems and treatment options to my patients.
My clinical practice includes earwax removal, grommet insertion, tonsillectomy for adults and children, septoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and snoring treatments. I also manage tinnitus, vertigo and balance disorders, voice problems including hoarseness, throat and swallowing difficulties, and complex ear conditions requiring surgery to restore hearing or repair the eardrum, including cholesteatoma surgery.
Many ENT conditions can be treated without surgery, and careful assessment is essential to recommend the most appropriate treatment. I aim to treat every patient as I would wish to be treated myself. My NHS and private audits show minimal complication rates, and I remain committed to ongoing education and research. I am a past Lead Clinician for Hull ENT and hold academic roles with Hull York Medical School and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
