I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with broad experience in general orthopaedics, specialising in upper limb trauma and elective surgery. I see patients with a wide range of shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions, and I have a particular interest in rheumatoid conditions affecting the upper limb.
I have been a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust since 2004. After qualifying in India, I completed my MS in Orthopaedics in 1991. I then undertook Specialist Registrar training in the Northwest and Yorkshire, with my final year based in Hull. To further develop my expertise in upper limb surgery, I completed an Upper Limb Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital.
I accept referrals for many different upper limb problems, from common conditions to more complex cases. My practice includes the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, ganglion cysts and trigger finger. I also perform shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder stabilisation and shoulder replacement surgery.
In addition, I manage a variety of musculoskeletal conditions such as frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement, tendon injuries, elbow bursitis and tendonitis, tennis and golfer’s elbow, wrist disorders and joint degeneration that may require arthroscopy or joint replacement.
I understand that upper limb pain and restricted movement can have a significant impact on daily life, work and independence. My approach is to listen carefully to your concerns, explain your diagnosis and treatment options clearly, and help you make informed decisions about your care.
