Professional profile

I have been a ENT Consultant since 2011. I completed my Higher Surgical Training in ENT in the West Midlands rotation which included the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. After completing my training I did a Rhinology fellowship under Prof. Nick Jones at Nottingham. I have also been on a few travelling fellowships to Portland, Zurich and Amsterdam to visit eminent Facial Plastics surgeons to increase and consolidate my skills. I am keen on research and have been awarded my Masters, MMedSci from Keele University. I have extensive experience in the medical and surgical management of general ENT conditions; My areas of special interest are Rhinology, Facial Plastics, Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery.

I specialise in all aspects of ENT including Paediatric ENT which ranges from simple wax removal to complex procedures. I have a special interest in Endoscopic sinus surgery, Thyroid/Parathyroid surgery and I also perform Rhinoplasties and Pinnaplasties (correction of prominent ears).

Head & Neck: I have now performed hemi/total thyroidectomies and parathyroid surgery about 150 procedures as a Consultant, I am now part of Thyroid /Head & Neck MDT at Hull. Rhinology: My endoscopic sinus surgery skills are good and have performed over 150 FESS procedures as a Consultant. In recent years, I have increased and optimised my skills in FESS and Rhinoplasties by working with regional Rhinologists, attending relevant courses and undertaking a few fellowships. I have performed 50 open Septorhinoplasties and more than 80 Closed Septorhinoplasties. I have also performed over 30 pinnaplasties.

I am the ENT Audit lead and Head & Neck cancer lead for the Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS trust (NLAG).

I am proud to be an honorary senior lecturer for the Hull York Medical School (HYMS)

Personal Profile

I recognise the need for a healthy balance between my work and personal life. I have taken up martial arts and am proud to say I am now a Black belt in Taekwondo which I attained in 2015 and am now a second Dan.

I practice Yoga regularly which keeps me calm and refreshed. I rejuvenate myself by going to the gym.

Cars are my other passion. I love driving and have been to Europe on long road trips a few times and during the recent trip in August 2016, I covered over 2000 miles visiting 6 countries in 8 days.
