I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of serious heart rhythm conditions. I support patients experiencing unexplained blackouts, falls and symptomatic palpitations, helping to investigate the cause of their symptoms and guide them through the most appropriate treatment options.
I also have a strong interest in screening patients with a family history of sudden cardiac death (SCD). For those considered to be at high risk, I provide treatment with implanted cardiac defibrillators and pacemakers, offering ongoing care and monitoring to help patients manage their condition with confidence.
I provide electrophysiological ablation procedures for cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation ablation, to a regional population of 1.2 million people. Electrophysiology is a specialist area of cardiology that focuses on diagnosing and treating abnormal heart rhythms using minimally invasive techniques.
I also specialise in the treatment of heart failure using biventricular pacemakers, which can help improve the heart’s pumping function in selected patients. I implant these devices and continue to follow up my patients closely, optimising the pacemakers using cardiac ultrasound scans, also known as echocardiography.
I was honoured to be awarded accreditation by the British Society of Echocardiography. This recognised both my practical skills and theoretical expertise in cardiac echocardiography, which is an ultrasound scan used to assess the structure and function of the heart.
