Specialises in
I qualified as a dietitian in 2007 after completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University. Alongside this, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science, which complements my nutritional knowledge and supports my approach to helping patients improve their health and wellbeing through diet.
Since 2009, I have specialised in bariatrics, surgery and gastroenterology, and I have been the dietetic lead for bariatric surgery and surgery at York Hospital since 2011. I am also a key member of the bariatric teams at York and Spire Hull Hospital, where I support and advise patients throughout their weight loss journey. I understand that making changes to your diet and lifestyle can feel overwhelming, and I aim to provide practical, personalised advice to help you feel confident and supported at every stage.
I have experience supporting patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal and nutrition-related conditions. These include irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, pancreatic insufficiency, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), food intolerances and the low FODMAP diet. I also support patients with liver disease, upper gastrointestinal cancers, nutrition support needs, weight management and sports nutrition.
In addition, I am a qualified fertility dietitian and work with both women and men who would like to optimise their diet and nutrition to support fertility.
I am committed to providing patient-centred care and helping each person reach their individual goals. I believe in taking the time to understand your lifestyle, concerns and long-term aims so that together we can create a realistic and sustainable plan that works for you.
I have presented at national conferences on nutritional deficiencies and I am also a published author in the British Journal of Obesity.
