I wanted to write to you to highlight the outstanding patient experience my wife and I, as a spouse/relative had when using Spire Harpenden in very difficult stressful circumstances on Friday 30 May.

My wife was seen promptly in outpatients by Mr Reay-Jones and from there was looked after in a treatment room before being moved to the ward urgently with the help of Wayne Large in liaising with all the relevant people. All the staff from the moment we were received at the reception desk by 2 male receptionists (I am sorry I do not have their names) were superb.

The highest standards were maintained throughout her stay on the ward and I wanted to single out the RMO, the staff nurse Charlotte Davies and the porter “Michael” as they, in particular were calm, caring and reassuring to my wife.

Our experience of urgent care, investigation and resolution of a potentially serious problem could not have been better and this experience has reinforced my impression as a local GP that Spire Harpenden offers an unparalleled patient experience of private healthcare.

 If you will forgive me for using the phrase but what comes to mind is “Carlsberg don’t do private healthcare but if they did... this would be what it is like!"
