My consultant Mr Parmar, the anaesthetist and theatre staff were so kind and reassuring as they knew how frightened I was of surgery. My recovery was swift, in no small part due to the excellent care I received from the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff. My room was bright with a lovely aspect (not bleak as with many hospital wards) which added to the positive experience. Discharge, normally a long, drawn out affair, was prompt and efficient. My overall impression was that of an immaculate, efficient hospital with care of its patients at its heart.

In my view Mr Parmar is an absolutely first class consultant. He fully explained all aspects of the procedure and subsequent recovery process and was so reassuring, answering any concerns I had. In theatre he went out of his way to relieve my very obvious tension. I would recommend him (indeed have already done so) to friends and family should they require orthopaedic surgery in the future.

Impossible to pick out one aspect as it was all superb. Reception staff when I arrived, porter (Patrick) taking me to my room, Joshua so kind as he took me to surgery, Mr Parmar and the team so reassuring in theatre, recovery staff, ward staff, catering and cleaning staff all so friendly and helpful. Porter (Michael) taking me to the lovely x-ray team and finally Phil, the porter, who helped me into the car for my journey home.

As I said, impossible to pick out any one element for praise. From my viewpoint the whole hospital runs as one cohesive, caring and professional team.
