I have been a Consultant Ophthalmologist for 19 years, 17 years of which I was a full time consultant with an interest in vitreo-retinal and general ophthalmic surgery at Blackpool Victoria Hospital (BVH). At present, I run a weekly cataract clinic and cataract surgical theatre list at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. I no longer perform vitreo-retinal surgery, however I am happy to provide VR opinions.

I have extensive experience in cataract surgery, including premium lens implants (TECNIS Symfony® and Rayner Sulcoflex®). I perform laser treatments for post cataract capsule thickening: YAG capsulotomy, laser treatments for glaucoma: YAG and argon. Laser treatments for retinal disease, including for retinal tears, diabetes and vascular occlusions. I also perform temporary punctual plug insertion and permanent punctual occlusions for dry eyes as well as corrective lid surgeries for entropion or ectropion lid problems.

To date I have performed over 4,000 cataract procedures in both my NHS and private practices, as well as over 1,000 laser cases.

Rugby remains to be my passion, having represented my school and university's first XV team. I have sponsored Fylde Colts for three seasons with "Pollocks4eyes" emblazoned on the back of their rugby tops. These days skiing and cycling holidays help keep a few of the pounds off.
