Specialises in
I have been working in orthopaedics since 2003 and have over 21 years of experience. My main areas of interest are foot and ankle surgery, lower limb arthroplasty including ankle, hip and knee replacement, arthroscopy and the management of diabetic foot conditions.
I am a fellowship‑trained orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery and diabetic foot care. In my practice, I routinely perform primary hip and knee arthroplasty and knee arthroscopy, as well as a wide range of foot and ankle procedures.
I currently work as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I have been in post for more than three years.
I completed my medical school training and postgraduate orthopaedic training in India, finishing in 2003, and was accredited to practice as an orthopaedic surgeon there. I have been working in the North West of England for the past 15 years. I undertook a specialist foot and ankle fellowship at North Tees and Hartlepool University Hospitals, which provided advanced training in complex foot and ankle reconstruction, soft tissue procedures and diabetic foot surgery.
My clinical practice includes the management of Achilles tendon pathology, ankle and subtalar arthroscopy, open and arthroscopic ankle fusion, ankle replacement, posterior ankle arthroscopy and tendoscopy, and arthroscopic or open ligament reconstruction of the foot and ankle. I also perform articular cartilage repair, bunion and hallux valgus surgery, big toe joint replacement, Morton's neuroma excision, lesser toe surgery including deformity correction and plantar plate repair, and tendon repair or tendon transfer procedures.
I have experience managing complex foot deformities including flat foot and cavus foot, performing corrective surgery, diabetic foot reconstruction, midfoot and hindfoot fusions, and treatment of forefoot and midfoot arthritis. My lower‑limb work also includes knee arthroscopy, primary hip and knee arthroplasty, and the use of platelet‑rich plasma treatments where appropriate.
