I have expertise to manage respiratory problems, including chronic cough, interstitial lung disease and COPD. I have a special interest in sleep related disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, excessive daytime sleepiness and parasomnias.

I graduated in 1987 and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians of UK in 1992. After gaining broad experience in all aspects of general medicine, I started a specialist training programme in Respiratory Medicine in 1997. Over the next five years I trained in respiratory medicine in the Mersey Region. I had the opportunity to work with Professor Peter Calverley, an authority on COPD, Professor Mike Pearson, Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Evaluation RCP and Professor Peter Davies who has done extensive work on tuberculosis. Since 2002 I have been working as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

I am the director of Blackpool Sleep Service and member of American Academy of Sleep Medicine and British Sleep Society.
