I have been a substantive Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology / Urogynaecology now since 2010. I was appointed as the Urogynaecology lead in 2012 and I lead the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS FT Pelvic Floor Service which comprises of Urogynaecology, Urology and Colorectal services and specialists, Women's Health Physiotherapy and continence Advisory Services. I have developed robust protocols and guidelines and a large document repository for advice and support for clinicians. Some of the documents have been submitted to the British Society of Urogynaecology for the benefit of other trusts as reference and can be adapted to their needs.
I introduced Bulkamid urethral injection for stress incontinence, i-Stitch device for safer sacrospinous fixation, Elevate mesh and SIS biological mesh repair and laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy/sacrohysteropexy to the trust and I have also reintroduced retropubic mid urethral sling too.
I set up and chair the Urogynaecology MDT in 2013 and the multidisciplinary Pelvic Floor MDT for Calderdale and Kirklees in the same year.
I produced gynaecology procedure specific customised consent forms in Harrogate and District Hospital in 2009 and i have revised these for use at CHFT, the initiative has reduced variations in practice.
I hold regular Urogynaecology clinics at Spire Elland Hospital as well as Urodynamic studies, hystersocopies and have a regular theatre list here too.

I am fluent in many languages including English, Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese.
I enjoy my work as a volunteer for the Leeds Chinese Community School, and a committee member and teacher at the school too. During my time there I have taken part in fundraising and am actively involved in charity events including organising workshops, reward ceremonies and performances for Chinese New Year in Leeds Town Hall, to name but a few.
When I can find the time I also enjoy cooking, open water diving, skiing, skating, tobogganing and Chinese calligraphy, swimming, cycling, walking, baking and travelling too.Back to top
