I had an operation on my spine as I was in so much pain. First time at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital and definitely recommend this hospital. The staff and team were awesome. My surgeon was totally lovely and catered to every one of my needs every time I visited the hospital. He was totally involved with my health decisions, my care and my aftercare. Him and his team have been absolutely fantastic - couldn't wish for a better team.
After my operation the surgeon visited me on a number of occasions to see how I was getting on, to me it didn't feel like a hospital more like a hotel - this suited my needs as I have high anxiety. Nothing was too much trouble for the nursing staff, they were brilliant. The anaesthetist was lovely and looked after me and made me laugh! The nurse carried my bag to reception when I was leaving as I wasn't allowed to lift anything. I have had my follow up care and everyone was so calm, listened to my needs and wishes. Everything I received has been first class - coffee on arrival, speed that I get in to see consultant or nurses and not waiting long in a lovely reception area.
I could go on forever and ever about how this hospital it is so wonderful! Private and NHS patients all go there and everyone is treated the same. I would like to say my operation was a big success and with minimal scarring it has enabled me to regain my own independence and alleviated the pain (which was unbearable), so personally I would like to thank the surgeon, the staff team and everyone at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital.
