I am an experienced Gastroenterologist having worked in the NHS as Consultant since 2016 with a a special interest in endoscopy. I have been working as Consultant Gastroenterologist in Stockport NHS Foundation Trust since 2019 where I am also the Lead of the Endoscopy Unit. Previously, I was Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Liverpool Hospital where I also completed my fellowships in Inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy. I am an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist for the Manchester Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. I graduated from the University of Patras in Greece in 1999 and I completed my training in gastroenterology both in Greece and in the UK. Despite my special interest in endoscopy, throughout my career, I have been treating patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal problems both as outpatients and inpatients.
I have a special interest in endoscopy including gastroscopy , colonoscopy , and sigmoidoscopy both diagnostic and therapeutic ( polypectomy, dilation) including Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopy.
I also manage gastroesophageal reflux and motility disorders of the oesophagus and stomach, functional gastrointestinal disorders including Irritable bowel syndrome, chronic diarrhoea and constipation and also Inflammatory bowel disease.
I have completed over 4,000 colonoscopies and 6,000 gastroscopies . I perform endoscopic mucosal resection of colonic polyps, dilatation of oesophageal strictures, Barrett's and atrophic gastritis surveillance, inflammatory bowel disease surveillance colonoscopy, bowel cancer screening colonoscopy.
