"Absolutely thrilled with my new knee".

After struggling for a few years on and off with a very painful left knee, this very active 86-year-old lady decided she needed some help. After speaking to her family, who don’t live local to her, an appointment with her GP was made.

Following an X-ray of her knee, it confirmed that she may need a knee replacement and a referral was made on the NHS. After being informed it could be a long wait, she decided to see Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Paul Dunkow privately at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital. Mr Dunkow reviewed her X-rays and agreed a total left knee replacement would be needed.

It is now three weeks post op, and she's pain free and only walking with one stick. She explained: “ I'm absolutely thrilled with my new knee and cannot thank Mr Dunkow enough, as well as Sally the Physiotherapist from Lytham who has been showing me exercises to do at home.”

She added: "Coming to Spire Fylde Coast was wonderful, efficient and I felt quite relaxed from my first appointment to coming in for my operation. I had a very positive experience and would certainly recommend Spire Fylde Coast to my friends and family."
