MBBS, MD, FRCS (Eng)
I am a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgeon at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I have worked since January 2026. I have worked in General Surgery since 2013 and completed my Specialist Training in the North West Deanery in October 2022.
I specialise in all aspects of General Surgery, with a particular interest in the assessment and management of abdominal pain, gallstones, heartburn and reflux, as well as abdominal wall hernias. My subspecialty interest is Upper GI Surgery, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder and reflux-related conditions.
In my NHS practice, I routinely perform laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, including gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), hernia repair and anti-reflux procedures. My aim is to provide personalised, evidence-based care, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have a strong interest in medical education and training. I am actively involved in teaching medical students and coordinate regional teaching programmes for senior General Surgery trainees across the North West.
In 2014, I was awarded a prestigious one-year Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England through the Freemasons Research Fund. During this fellowship, I conducted research at the University of Liverpool investigating nanoparticle-based chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer.
