I have been accredited with higher and advanced ophthalmology training at Ninewells University Hospital in Dundee, The Royal Hospitals, Belfast and Bristol Eye Hospitals.

I achieved fellowships from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008. I successfully accomplished an advanced sub-specialty fellowship (ASTO) in cornea and external eye diseases in 2009. I was then appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Foundation NHS Trust to establish the cornea and external eye diseases services in South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

I have expertise and skills in a wide range of eye diseases including cataract, refractive surgery, cornea, external eye diseases, glaucoma, lid diseases (oculoplastics), diabetic eye diseases, age related macular degeneration, retinal diseases, strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology.

I have special interests in cataract and refractive surgery including LASIK, femtosecond laser, cornea and external eye diseases and in oculoplastics surgery, including cosmetic lid surgery.

I have maintained my continuing professional development and regularly attend national and international conferences on my special interest subjects. I also have several publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences.
