I am a general orthopaedic surgeon with sub-specialist interest in lower limb arthroplasty and revision surgery. The 35 years of Orthopaedic experience both in the UK and India has given me a sound base in general orthopaedics and trauma.
In my role as lower limb lead surgeon, I undertake complex primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty and perform over 150 cases each year. Have driven the creation of the MDT and the role of cell salvage to reduce blood transfusion rates in these complex cases
To date I have performed over 2700 joint replacements with excellent results validated on the National joint registry and within the 99.8% controls limits
I mentor junior colleagues and trainees in delivering an efficient and safe care to patients. I have undertaken live demonstration surgery to international meetings and welcome overseas visiting surgeons keen on exploring different surgical approaches to Orthopaedic problems. This interaction was received positively in the local press and has raised the profile of ELHT in the local population (Lancashire Telegraph May 2014 & December 2016). I have a keen acumen for improving standards in clinical practice and supplement these with regular audits of my clinical practice
