Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in urogynaecology.
My main area of expertise is the management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. I have been actively involved in developing day‑case pelvic floor surgery and vaginal hysterectomy services within my region, reflecting the increasing evidence supporting improved recovery and outcomes with minimally invasive approaches.
In addition, I am an experienced benign laparoscopic surgeon, treating a range of conditions including menstrual disorders and chronic pelvic pain. My practice also includes advanced techniques such as vNOTES (transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), where appropriate.
I qualified as a doctor in 2001 and undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the North West Deanery, gaining broad experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology. I then completed further subspecialty training in urogynaecology at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, developing expertise in the management of pelvic floor disorders, including vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence and obstetric anal sphincter injuries.
I was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2015 and have worked as a Consultant at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since that time.
