I have over 19 years' experience since qualifying as a doctor. I then went on to specialise as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with a special interest in Urogynaecology.
My special interest is in prolapse and urine incontinence management. I am highly skilled in Laparoscopic benign surgery as well as pelvic floor operations including vaginal and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
My practice includes regular office-based (outpatient) procedures including hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intrauterine contraceptive devices as well as bladder injections and urethral bulking procedures.
I was awarded CCT in 2015 and have been a consultant at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since then. With evidence favouring better recovery and outcomes from day case surgery. I have pioneered day case vaginal surgery in Blackpool.
As the Head of Department the Women's department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, at Blackpool I continue to drive innovation and quality assurance of the service received by the patients within the women's department.
I am also proud to be a member of the clinical senate that allows development of pathways for better patient care in the wider healthcare footprint in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. To ensure quality assurance, I am also an active member of the British Society of Urogynaecologists, database committee.
