I am a fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist surgeon currently working in the NHS at East Lancashire NHS Hospitals Trust.
I specialise in treating conditions of the hand and wrist including common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture, trigger finger, trigger thumb, ganglia and osteoarthritis.
I am originally from the Fylde Coast and completed my Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgical training in the North West of England. I then undertook the Training Interface Group (TIG) Hand fellowship which is regarded as the gold standard of hand surgery training in the UK. Achieving first on the national application for this fellowship, I chose to undertake my training at Wrightington, Whiston and Alder Hey Children's Hospitals. During this fellowship I gained specialist advanced training across the breadth of hand and wrist surgery including the treatment of osteoarthritis with joint replacement surgery.
I have a strong interest in research and have completed a Master of Research in Clinical sciences degree and have set up and recruited patients to randomised controlled trials.
I have published papers and book chapters in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery including hand and wrist surgery. I am also a keen educator and have completed postgraduate qualifications in medical education and trained on multiple national trauma and orthopaedic courses.
I have also achieved higher qualifications in Hand and Wrist surgery including the Diploma of the European Board of Hand Surgery.

Personal profile
I grew up locally and went to primary and secondary school in Lytham St. Annes. I currently live with my wife and 2 sons on the Fylde Coast. We spend our free time visiting our friends and family and spending days out in the Lake District doing outdoor activities.
