Virtual consultations:
My early education and medical career have spanned three continents, including experience in Dubai and Mumbai. My early orthopaedic career involved working in tertiary trauma units and completing multiple orthopaedic qualifications.
I have been based in the North West of England for the past 11 years, where I completed both my basic surgical training and higher specialist training. I trained on the Manchester Orthopaedic Rotation, gaining experience across busy units including Preston, East Lancashire and Pennine Acute Hospitals. I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals since September 2013.
I completed the Sir John Charnley Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, one of the UK’s recognised centres of excellence in orthopaedics. This fellowship provided extensive experience in complex hip and knee arthroplasty, including challenging primary procedures and revision surgery for failed joint replacements. This included managing infection, failed metal‑on‑metal implants, early loosening and complex revision cases.
I have a strong interest in patient experience and have undertaken research into the impact of orthopaedic surgery on patients, particularly those who live alone or have anxiety or depression, with a focus on improving outcomes and expectations.
My clinical practice includes hip and knee surgery, including revision hip surgery, arthroscopy, and the management of osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. I also treat sports‑related and soft tissue injuries, provide pain management and medico‑legal services, and use advanced techniques such as Arthrosamid® injections and Mako® robotic‑arm assisted surgery where appropriate.
Patients do not require a GP referral when making an appointment.

I recognises that like most medics, especially surgeons, I would have struggled to reach this far without the wonderful support of my wife who somehow also finds time to work at Preston college.
I like to play cricket and swim well though have never won anything in either!
I have an older boy and a toddler girl who do their best to ensure that Dad doesn't have the time for much else when he gets home.
I love my technology and gadgets and tinker with both until I get them working again.
