I grew up in Lancashire. I obtained a degree in Physiology at the University of Manchester and studied Medicine at St. John’s College Cambridge graduating in 1992.
My basic surgical training was in Sheffield gaining FRCS (London) in 1996. I joined the East Anglian Higher Training Scheme in Urology in 1998 and gained FRCS (Urol) in 2002. I did a Fellowship at the Internationally renowned Institute of Urology at University College Hospital London.
I returned to my roots and was appointed in 2004 to The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been actively involved in teaching throughout my career and awarded Teacher of the Year by students at The University of Cambridge. I am a Surgical Skills tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons London and Edinburgh.
I am the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead for Andrology, Functional Urology and BPH. He lectures extensively both Nationally and Internationally on the management of prostate hyperplasia using laser.
