Mr Haq obtained a degree in Physiology at the University of Manchester and studied medicine at St John's College, Cambridge graduating in 1992. Basic surgical training was at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield gaining FRCS (Eng) in 1996. He joined the East Anglian Higher Surgical Training Scheme in Urology in 1998 and gained FRCS (Urol) in 2002.
He has worked in Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich, Peterborough and Bedford. He then specialised in Female Urology and Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction and did a fellowship at the internationally renowned Institute of Urology at the Middlesex Hospital, London.
