I am a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with expertise in electrophysiology and cardiac device implantation. I perform catheter ablations for cardiac arrhythmias such as supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial tachycardia and atrial flutters as well as complex catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). I am experienced in performing simple and complex cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. Recently, I started implanting the new leadless pacemaker.
To date, I have performed over 1,200 ablation procedures and over 850 device implantation procedures.
I was trained in the United Kingdom and the United States. I was awarded a British Heart Foundation (BHF) project grant to undertake a multi centre clinical trial in patients with cardiomyopathy at three UK centres; Oxford, London and Birmingham. I was awarded a PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2010. I was trained in cardiology and electrophysiology within the West Midlands deanery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. I was awarded the certificate of completion of training (CCT) in cardiology and electrophysiology in 2013. Then I undertook two years specialist training in advanced ablation and device therapy for heart rhythm disorders at prestigious centres in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I was board certified by the International Heart Rhythm Society, USA in cardiac devices (CCDS) in 2013 and cardiac electrophysiology (CEPS) in 2013.
I am a member of the advisory committee for online medical prescribing at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
I have a special interest in medical education and research. I am co-editor of education website www.ecardia.org. I have an extensive publishing record with 28 scientific papers in high-impact factor journals as well as 44 abstracts. I have performed a large number of scientific presentations at a national and international level (BCS, BHRS, ESC, ACC and AHA).

I enjoy spending my spare time with my wife, son and two daughters. I enjoy cycling, playing basketball, football and travelling abroad.
