I qualified from Leeds Medical School in 1982. He trained in Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, and Birmingham Eye Hospital. I held specialist Fellowship posts in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital surgery at Moorfields and at the Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, before taking up my NHS post in 1997.
Since then I have developed a busy, well equiped private practice specialising in small incision cataract surgery, oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery, including cosmetic lid surgery.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of ophthalmologists, a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society and a member of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and; Reconstructive Surgeons. I am also the Vice President of the Ophthalmology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Research Interest: Acquired lacrimal drainage obstruction in patients on chemotherapy.

Mr Rowson lives with his wife and four children in Tunbridge Wells. Aside from his professional interests he is an avid reader, has run several marathons and is a keen sailor and fencer.
