I was an emergency admission to the Spire Fylde Coast Hospital on 12 June 2014. I had sustained a fracture of the left ankle joint whilst out walking in the Lune Valley. I was transferred firstly to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and thereafter to Blackpool.

I was received with courtesy and efficiency and had an operative procedure on the following day. The nursing and theatre staff were exemplary and I have happy memories of their collective expertise even in the stressful circumstances of my injury. I have particular praise for Mr Paul Dunkow, consultant orthopaedic surgeon, and his anaesthetic colleague.

The standard of care shown by all was highly satisfactory and I would have no hesitation in using the service so well provided on a future occasion if that were to be necessary.
