I am a consultant cardiologist seeing patients at Spire Murrayfield Wirral and Spire Abergele Clinic, with a particular focus on cardiovascular imaging and the prevention of heart disease. My approach centres on early diagnosis, personalised risk assessment and evidence‑based strategies to support long‑term heart health.
I specialise in advanced cardiac investigations, including echocardiography and other imaging techniques, which allow detailed assessment of heart structure and function. These tests play a key role in diagnosing heart conditions, monitoring treatment and identifying cardiovascular risk at an early stage. I take time to explain results clearly and discuss what they mean for each individual.
A major focus of my work is the prevention of cardiovascular disease. I believe strongly in an individualised approach, using the latest evidence and technology to help patients reduce their risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular problems. This includes careful assessment of lifestyle factors, cardiometabolic health and underlying risk conditions, and working with patients to create practical, achievable plans for long‑term wellbeing.
Alongside my private practice at Spire, I hold senior leadership responsibilities within the NHS related to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement, reflecting my commitment to safe, effective patient care. I am also involved in academic work at the University of Liverpool, with research interests focused on atherosclerosis and cardiometabolic disease.
Outside of work, I live on the Wirral with my wife and two young children and enjoy playing sport, astrophotography and wine collecting.
