Andy’s story – surgery for an enlarged prostate

“What really matters to me is my health. And I’ve got that back.”

After experiencing excruciating symptoms, Andy was rushed to A&E where he was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. He was told he required surgery, but with the prospect of a two year wait for the operation, this left the 57-year-old feeling extremely low, as the symptoms were affecting his ability to work. Leaving Andy in fear of losing his dream job.

Andy, from Canvey Island, made the decision to come to Spire Healthcare, where he was booked in with a specialist within 2 weeks. Andy underwent prostate surgery at Spire, under the care of Mr Anil Vohra, Consultant Urological Surgeon.

“What really matters to me is my health. And I’ve got that back.”
