New mothers, as well as those expecting their first child in the months to come, are being told of the benefits of breastfeeding this week.
In order to mark National Breastfeeding Awareness Week, which began on June 25th and runs until June 30th, medical professionals are making the process more recognised.
For example, a 'Big Feed' event will be held at Pensby and Bebington Children's Centre's in Wirral, which will see specialists providing support and advice on breastfeeding.
A health stall has also been set up at Birkenhead Market for the entire duration of the awareness week, while those around Wirral are encouraged to visit St Werburgh's Square, in Birkenhead, to see the Breastfeeding Roadshow on June 30th.
Healthmeup.com has also being talking about the benefits of breastfeeding this week, telling the Times of India that nursing has the least significant impact on the breasts, while being stressed can slow the milk supply from them.
