I completed my undergraduate medical training at the University of Bristol in 2005 with a further degree in neuroscience. After having completed my first year as a junior doctor I then decided to undertake a career hiatus working in the finance sector as an accountant for Deloitte LLP and then moving on to become a management consultant specialising in healthcare for Ernst & Young LLP before returning to medicine in 2011.
I went on to undertake the remainder of my foundation training in London before moving to Southend for my postgraduate general practice training and gained membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2016 and have practiced as a GP in the Southend area since then.
My clinical experience is varied and widespread having undertaken foundation year training (F1 and F2) at North Bristol NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College NHS Foundation Trust involving rotations within the specialties of cardiology, medicine for the elderly, colorectal surgery, urology, genito-urinary medicine, intensive care medicine, psychiatry and general practice.
My clinical experience was further developed and tailored towards my future career in General Practice when I moved to Southend to undertake my GP Specialist Training Programme resulting in rotations within the departments of obstetrics and gynaecology, palliative medicine, paediatrics, stroke medicine, medicine for the elderly, Day Assessment Unit and general practice.
I completed my postgraduate training in general practice gaining membership of the Royal College of Practitioners in 2016 and since then I have been working as a sessional GP at various GP surgeries in the Southend area and also local out of hours work.
In addition to my clinical roles I also am involved in ad hoc work undertaking Artificial Intelligence Product Testing for the Health Tech company Babylon Health/GP at Hand.
Furthermore, during my undergraduate and postgraduate years I have been published in both The Journal of Comparative Neurology in 2006 and The International Journal of Surgery in 2014.

Personal profile
Outside of medicine I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young children and, when time allows, am a very keen sportsman especially enjoying football and participating in endurance events involving running and cycling. I am also a great fan of music.
