Professional profile:

Mr Hamid has a broad based training in general urology. He has been sub-speciality trained in female, neuro-urology and reconstructive urology at some of the most prestigious hospitals in London including The Middlesex Hospital, University College London Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He did his research in infertility in spinal injuries at Spinal Injuries Unit, Stanmore in association with Institute of Urology, London.

He can offer advice on general urological problems including lower urinary tract dysfunction, erectile dysfunction and urinary tract infections.

He specialises in the treatment male and female voiding dysfunction, urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. He performs surgery for all types of incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse including colposuspension, autologous slings, TVT and sacrocolpopexy. He implants artificial sphincters in men with post operative incontinence. His particular interest is in the management of bladder problems after neurological diseases with bladder augmentation, bladder replacement and both continent and incontinent diversions. He practice includes tertiary referrals for painful bladder syndrome. He is amongst a handful of urologists performing neuromodulation for this and overactive bladder problems.

He is very involved in teaching medical and postgraduate students at UCL. He has published more than 30 papers and presented extensively in international meetings. He has authored more than 6 book chapters.

Most of the spare time is spent with my wife and 3 children. We enjoy international travel.

I have been a keen sportsman representing my college in hockey, football and athletics. Now-a-days I enjoy following both national and international sporting events.

I am interested in politics and international affairs. Cars are my passion!
