Mr Anthony Moriarty trained in medicine at Cambridge University and The London Hospital. He trained in Ophthalmology in Liverpool and
St Thomas's Hospital and as Fellow in Ocular plastic and Lid, Cornea, Glaucoma and Cataract surgery at the Lions Eye Institute and Royal Perth Hospital, Australia. His main interests are in Glaucoma, Cataract, Laser and more recently macular and retinal disease.  He is a member of the European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and is a wet-lab and course organiser on behalf of the UK Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Examiner at UMIST in Optics and a College Examiner for Fellowship in Ophthalmology. He is a regularly invited speaker and has worked in the third world in developing cataract programmes.

Mr Moriarty is a keen sports enthusiast, enjoying tennis, golf and squash. He is interested in natural history and the outdoors, being a keen scuba-diver, back-packing and mountain bike enthusiast.He enjoys terrestrial and under-water photography and also has a keen interest in music.
